Why should you be part of Nelly’s By Night? Here are 5 reasons why being a vampire for a night is awesome, whether you’re a Vampire: The Masquerade fan, or just looking for something new:

Live Out Your Vampire Dreams

If you have an interest in vampires – if you’ve watched a vampire tv show or movie, or played a vampire game – you’ve likely thought about what it would be like to be one. Despite the undead bloodsucking monster thing, being immortal does have its appeal. As does preternatural strength and speed, living without fear of injury or disease, and being forever young and beautiful. This is your opportunity to live out that life for a few hours – all of the glamour, none of the angst or commitment. (Unless you want angst. Angst is very Vampire.)

Be Someone Else

Let’s face it – no matter how interesting your life might be, the day to day of things can get to be routine. Or maybe you wonder what it might be like to be louder – or quieter. More assertive or more manipulative. More controlled or more spontaneous and erratic. Maybe just different. This is your opportunity to be as different from your ‘normal’ self as you like. Be the things you’ve always dreamed of. Go for it, and go big.

Meet New People

‘Meeting people’ when you’re pretending to be someone else might sound strange. How can you get to know another person while you play a character? It is a bit difficult – but the experience you have with the people you meet as their characters is real, and the connections you feel are real. Many deep and meaningful friendships have started by discussing amazing scenes or roleplay at a social or after party… even as ‘real people.’ If you like being a vampire with someone, chances are that you might like getting a coffee with them too.

The Venue

Our venue was made for a vampire party. Built in 1888, it was fully reimagined in 2015 by a native Torontonian and local entrepreneur – redesigned from top to bottom and filled with the owner’s personal collection of antiques and art, it is a truly unique space you will not soon forget.

All Throttle, No Brakes

It is just one night, so no matter how much you like your character, their story ends at the end of the evening. There is no reason whatsoever to be careful or play it safe. Make big moves, and don’t think too long about them. This is a city on the brink: now is the time. Play the game like I used to play Grand Theft Auto: No brakes – just hit the gas.

Bonus: It’s in Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition

This will be one of the first live-action experiences (that we’re aware of, at least!) to use the new 5th Edition setting, and we will be incorporating a number of the themes and concepts. So if the possibilities in 5th Edition get you hyped, get hyped about Nelly’s.
